The Cayenne has been a success for Porsche since its introduction in 2002, when it set the benchmark for SUV sports cars
The new Cayenne is available to order now and will arrive in Porsche Centres from 11th October; prices start from £49,902 OTR.
We have the details, pricing and specification – let’s take a look to see what is on offer from one of my favourite marques.
Porsche Cayenne Diesel and S Diesel models
In true Porsche style, the Cayenne S Diesel is powered by a 4.2 litre V8 engine that produces 385hp. From standstill, this model can reach 62mph in just 5.4 seconds and achieve a top speed of 156mph.
The 3.0 litre V6 Diesel produces 262hp and can accelerate from 0-62mph in 7.3 seconds; this model also has a top speed of 137mph.
Porsche Cayenne S and Turbo variants
The Cayenne S petrol has a 3.6 litre V6 bi-turbo engine with an eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission. Reaching 62mph in 5.5 seconds, this model has a top speed of 161mph.
The top of the range Porsche Cayenne Turbo is powered by a 4.8 litre engine with eight cylinders and twin turbochargers which boost the engines power to 520hp. This lets the Cayenne Turbo reach 62mph in a blisteringly quick 4.5 seconds and it has a top speed of 173mph.
Cayenne S E-Hybrid
The new hybrid variant has made a lot of progress since the last generation model. The 95hp electric motor working in tandem with the 333hp 3.0 litre V6 supercharged engine produce a combined system power of 416hp.
This model can reach 62mph in 5.9 seconds and has top speed of 151mph; the all-electric top speed is 77mph.
The Cayenne S E-Hybrid’s lithium-ion traction battery has an energy capacity of 10.9 kWh and has a maximum driving range of 36km. This battery can be charged from an electric power grid or while driving.
Porsche Cayenne Standard Equipment
All Cayenne models includes Porsche Traction Management all-wheel drive, Bi-xenon headlights with four point LED daytime running lights, multi-function sports steering wheel, ParkAssist, cruise control, automatic climate control, powered tailgate, Sport button and start/stop technology.
The Turbo variant adds LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Lighting System, 19” alloy wheels, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with self-levelling air suspension, Porsche Communication Management with satellite navigation and BOSE Surround Sound Audio.
