The unique car show will be organised by Brand Events, who are the company behind Top Gear Live and CarFest.
Where did the idea for the London Classic Car Show come from?
A special launch event in West London’s Adam & Eve Mews
on 10th July 2014, Chris Hughes, Chief Executive, pointed out the
Testa Rossa Aston Martin DB6 (once owned by Paul McCartney) and other classic
automobiles on display and said;
“Classic cars look great in London, don’t they? They reflect
the style and culture of a cool capital. Yet London has no classic car show.
We aim to change that with a show that’s innovative and full
of passion.”
Key roles behind the London Classic Car Show
Some original ideas have been promised at the London Classic
Car Show, such as The Grand Avenue; a motoring runway that the cars will be
driven down.
TV Chef James Martin will be serving quality food and
displaying some of his own classic cars that are part of his private
collection.
Some of these include a rare Ferrari 288 GTO, a 250 GTO and
a number of Mini Coopers.
He said;
“A show that combines my two passions, food and cars – I’ll
be in heaven.”
Also playing a key role in the event will be BBC Top Gear’s
James May, who will be putting together a collection of ‘Cars That Changed The
World’ and has promised a few surprises.
London Classic Car Show Event Director
Bas Bungish, Event Director, has this to say;
“Although we have only just announced the show, we have
already been promised huge support from a number of key players in the
automotive and classic car worlds.
We see this as a celebration of the car and are encouraging
manufacturers and their one-make clubs to get together to put on a display from
the past, present and possibly even the future.
Maserati and Aston Martin have already signed up, along with
leading dealers and specialists such as Eagle E-Types, Duncan Hamilton,
Nicholas Mee & Co, Frank Dale and Stepsons and Hexagon Classics to name but
a few.
Cars are about passion and joy and the London Classic Car
Show will celebrate that.”
