Second multi-million pound auction at Coys Nurburgring in less than a month

Over 50 classic cars will go under the hammer on Saturday 9th August.

Coys Nurburgring is going to auction off another selection of top cars next week, including 15 of the best Porsches on the market.

Managing Partner at international auctioneers Coys, Chris Routledge, said;

“Nurburgring promises to be a spectacular sale. We are featuring a specialist section, ‘The Excellence of Porsche’, offering some of the finest Porsches available on the market anywhere in the world today, including an ultra-rare and original 1970 911 S/T, formerly the property of Walter Rohrl and a highly genuine Porsche 934 RSR Turbo, triple Le Mans entrant in 76, 77 and 78.”

The Excellence of Porsche

The Porsche 911 S/T is arguably the most exciting car in the auction. This Porsche competed at the Avus Ring in Berlin 1971, where it finished sixth in the GT class and seventh in Group 4.

It has had a complete restoration, with original engine parts and S/T specification costing over €175,000.

Estimated at €900,000 to €1.1 million the 911 S/T is one of the rarest and most sought after 911s in the world.

The specialist Porsche section will also feature the 1976 934 RSR Turbo, which started at Le Mans in 1976 with drivers Nick Faure and John Goss. After not finishing the race due to problems with the turbocharger, it was sold to well-known NSU and Porsche tuner Jean-Pierre Gaban.

This is one of 31 Porsche 934 RSR Turbos and has all its documented race history and FIA papers and is one of the most significant survivors of an important period of racing.

Other cars at the auction

The auction will also feature an ex-works BMW 2002 competition car with a Grand Prix engine, a Ferrari Tipo 458 Italia (also known as ‘The Niki Lauda Car’), a 1958 Porsche 365 Speedster, a 1971 Ferrari Dino 246GT and many more.

Viewing of the cars will take place Friday 8th August from 10:00am to 7:00pm and Saturday 9th August at 10:00am. The Auction will be held after Saturday’s viewing period at 4:00pm.
